"I was home alone one night and waiting for my husband to arrive home shortly. It was around 10 p.m. and I decided to lie in bed and watch the news until he arrived. I lay down on my side in bed and lit up a cigarette. I nodded off.

"The next thing I remember was hearing a man yell, "Hey!" My eyes popped open and I saw a man in the bedroom doorway looking at me. He quickly turned and walked back down the hall. I admit my vision was blurry from nodding off, but I assumed it was my husband. I quickly sat up and put my cigarette out, dreading going into the kitchen to greet my husband, knowing the lecture was coming for being so reckless with my smoking.

"I walked into the kitchen... and he was not in there! As a matter of fact, he had not arrived home yet! I was scared after that because I know what I heard and saw. But no one else was in the house when I received that abrupt wake-up call. I am thankful to whoever or whatever had the brains to wake me up before I lit myself on fire."

We're glad you're still around to report that remarkable story, Zoe. So how do we attempt to explain Zoe's experience. Some would say it was a life-saving message from a spirit. Another point of view would say it was her guardian angel coming to the rescue. A skeptic might write it off by saying it was Zoe's own subconscious waking her up in this potentially perilous situation. Well, they can write off all they want, but even if that is the case, how miraculous is that to think that her unconscious mind created a visual and auditory illusion that might have saved her life. Nothing ordinary about that! What do you think?
